In between creating art I have been baking....cookies cookies cookies and a couple loaves of homemade bread! Wow will I be needing a diet after the holidays! LOL Noticed how I said "after" lol I'm no dummy....I know what's good! LOL Crud and no pictures of all the goodies for you to drool over!

That cute little doggie belonged to my dear friend Trish who had passed away this summer...I miss her and her little doggie "Spot" but we lovingly called the sweet dog "Squirrel Dog"...not too much bigger than a squirrel and just as fiesty!

 

This is just some random painting on cardboard that I did this weekend. I just felt like painting...no glue, no scissors...just paint! And it was really fun!

What's new???

 

"A Friend is a Gift" 9x12 on tag board

Thought I would try something new on y'all and see what you think...This art piece took almost 5 days...whew! lol There is a paper layer underneath it all using vintage papers and decorative papers, then a couple layers of acrylic paint, cut and torn paper collage, colored pencils and Neo II's were used for doodling!

I am working on a couple others and have been sketching out ideas for future collages!

Here is a photo I took last night of what has been going on in our home

 

Taken from outside standing on the porch looking in to our kitchen/dining room at are girls busily working ahem playing ...building gingerbread houses! Sorry about the spotty window...I believe Sarah took it upon herself to flick frosting at me and her Dad! lol

What winter looks like here lately in Tennessee (the most snow we have had in years...and more to come eventually)

 

Here is two of our girls who grabbed a couple plastic lids so they could fly down the hill! Fun! There are still spots of snow here and there and probably none by time this crazy rain we're having today! LOL SNOW SNOW SNOW LET IT SNOW LET IT SNOW!!! hee hee No more rain thank you!

One more photo of our two cats who are too chicken to get wet from the rain! LOL

 

Ahh darn....a bit blurry but cute none the less...the lights look kinda cool this way LOL

Alright! I am being kicked off the puter by my Hub who needs to work! SIGH!! lol

A Hero

 

Do you see this hippy looking fella?! This is my Hub...Today was a very different and unexpected day...at not even 6:30 AM EST and just barely crawling out of bed....we heard a very loud knock at out door.........

It was one of our neighbors caretakers....of a 65 year old man who is very fragile, on oxygen and very stubborn but sweet all the same...We ran and opened the front door to see this little old mans caretaker at our door yelling, "FIre! Fire! I tried to get him out but he won't come."...Yes, the old man, our neighbor was being stubborn and stayed behind and was trying to put a fire out around his bed with a measuring cup....

My Hub scambled to dress and find his shoes...and seconds later out the door and running towards this mans house....you could now see smoke starting to billow out through small cracks and windows...the fire had started to grow....

My Hub...ran into the house without a second thought....with his daughters up on the hill huddling and holding each other close while tears streamed down their faces and with thoughts and prayers that their Daddy would come barreling through the door any second.....and I still home with the old mans caretaker and my Grandson...feeling helpless and oh so scared....now...seeing flames...

Minutes later, my Hub came out their front door literally dragging this stubborn old man from his burning house....the old mans legs collapsing beneath him...and large amounts of black smoke racing out the door along with the men...

They found a safe spot to collapse and not seconds later...the old mans supply of oxygen tanks went off with a very very loud bang....the tanks blew.....and everything from the old mans trailer to at least half of a mile around us felt and heard it....where the location of the oxygen tanks in this mans house blew clean through the wall and sent metal siding flying and crashing with a deafening sound...

Then the whole trailer was in flames...and seemed to be licking the clouds above...

Scared and frantic...waiting to hear word that everyone was ok and safe...us gals started to settle down...

I am so very thankful that everyone is safe and ok...

To my Hub...My Hero...and I am sure many others.....Thank you....you make me so very proud to call you my life soul mate...I love you my brave hero!!!!!
