A Big Hello to all.....

Hello there! Thought I would stop in to say hello and let you know I am still kicking! Under alot of stress lately but I can get through it. After all it could be worse, so I thank my lucky stars for that!!

I haven't got any art work done in so long...I did start and art page awhile back but haven't had the energy or the inspiration to finish it...I hope it won't be too long before I am doing art again!

Also...while I have been gone from my blog....We had a big celebration here My grandson Gabriel is now ONE!!! Yay! It was a fun and very special day and he seemed to have a blast with it all! Grandma went a bit over board for him....but he will only be one ..once so if you have grandchildren I am sure you know how that goes! lol I tried to upload photos of his first year but my blog wasn't wanting to cooperate...didn't want to upload photos for some reason. I really think it is my computer AGAIN...so I have been organizing files and getting ready to do a full clean up on my computer...UGH! lol

I am also thankful that I was able to upload collage elements to my Flickr for Collage Play with Crowabout! I was surprised when it let me do that.

Now I am going to cross my fingers and  my toes and hope that this posts! ;O)

The Puppet Master's Stage Performance....

So here I am! This is what I have been up to! Don't have much to work with right now...so it pushes me to work outside the box...or ...in it for that matter LOL

What we have here is a cycled up box mailer...like I say...use what you have...I have created a theater! A working theater! Mechanical but by what else strings...what else would a puppet master use?! lol

Listen if you will...using your imagination....hear the song in your head from the wonderful musical "The Sound of Music"...in the musical the children and care provider/teacher (Juile Andrews) in their lovely puppet show they put on! Do you hear the music yet? You know the one....with the little goats and the little gal (yoodeler)? Yoooodelaaaaaaaaaaheeeeeeehooooo! Got it now? Yes that's the one!

The puppet master for this performance has created her very own stage to act out how sometimes life (the goat-to the right of piece) kicks you in the ...I'll be nice here....butt! And then you pick yourself up and dust yourself off and kick life right back...again...in the butt (the other goat to the left of the piece) This is where I am at right now. Kicking goats AHEM!  lifes butt~! lol  And this is how this piece all came about. A few more little details to add...a bit more paint touch-ups and I can call it good...just thought I would stop in and say hi and show you what I am doing.

I do have another stage performance piece that I am working on and will show that soon....all it needs is lights and a music box ....I think your gonna like it!!

"Daisy" on 8.5" x 11" cardstock

Not sure if she is done just yet but she sure is a charmer! Just feels like it needs something...While creating this piece I was thinking back...way back...to grade school when I played in a school musical as Daisy! Some of you may remember the tune...Daisy daisy give me your answer due...I'm half crazy..over the love of you!...I think that is how it goes...at least from what my pea brain can remember...which isn't saying much! LOL All I really remember is being nervous as heck!!

Speaking of being scared as heck! Have you ever trying mowing a lawn...I should say a couple acres...on a riding mower? On sloping hills and lots of dips to boot??? HOLY HECK! lol I mowed maybe not even an 1/8th of the land and stopped and said, "OK! THATS IT...THATS ENOUGH SCARING THE HECK OUT OF MYSELF FOR ONE DAY" !! lol WHEW! I will have to get you a view from the road with a photo of the land! Lawdy! All I can say is when my hub gets back home...weeks from now...he's a dead man! LOL If it ain't a push mower...I am not attempting that again...unless someone wants to flatten out the land...which won't happen! lol We need those hills for drainage for as much water that falls from the sky here in TN. Hmmphf! :op ~~~~~~~

That is about all for now....Now just to invest in nerve pills or find the nearest margaritaville and I will be good as new! LOL

I never want the flu again!!!!

 

Beautiful art from Marsha ! I purchased the top one not long ago and finally got them into a frames...These frames are not their permanant home but I wanted to hang them up and not get ruined! I would be very sad if they did! The bottom piece was a gift from Marsha (a piece she made from the group Collage Play with Crowabout and I was so excited and overwhelmed when I opened the package from her! I would definately have to say she is a kindred spirit! Thank you Marsha many times over! 

Be sure to visit Marsha! Her work is amazing! There are not enough words to say!!!

Sorry I have been gone so long...was totally unexpected...Easter evening when cleaning up I started to slow down and feel a bit exhausted and achey. I had the flu! Lucky me huh?! LOL I am over it and back at the art thing again!!

Lousy photography but it smells so very good!

Bacon wrapped pork tenderloin marinating in hickory smoke sauce with garlic and other good spices! This is going on the grill this afternoon! I can't wait!

My daughter Sarah's homemade Fresh Shrimp Salsa with tortilla dipper chips! YYYYYYYYUMMMM! Great job Sarah! It is so very good!

 

Love my Pyrex!!! hee hee An early morning snack to keep everyone out of the kitchen! LOL

Sausage Balls! All it is, is sausage(hot or reg.) 1-1/2 cup biscuit mix, and finely shredded cheese! Then rolled into small balls and set on a cookie sheet, bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes...then turn and bake for another 10 minutes and there you have it! They are good by themselves or dipped in ranch dressing is pretty darn good too!

 

Need a quick snack tray? Here ya go! No name yet for these but so awesomely good!

I used Townhouse Topper crackers, French onion dip, a small slice of cheddar cheese and topped off with a sliced jalopeno(the ones you can purchase in the jar) Quick send the hubby out to get the stuff for them! You won't be sorry!

There is more on the menu...but they will all have to wait till last minute prep...my fridge is stuffed!!!!

We have the above goodies for snacking..plus lil smokies in barbeque sauce!!!

Deviled eggs

Hawaiian Rolls

and Pineapple Cake for dessert!!

WIP and One Thing Leads To Another....

And so it starts....

WIP....Yesterday I started to work on the other two pieces in my series of pokey dotty backgrounds...then this happened....***insert cheesy grin here*** earlier I had done a bunch of printing out of images...especially from here ! ... I just love that website!! Yum! I had a vision...and it lead me to think even more about it...So this piece is not done...not yet! Not till I gather all the rest of the supplies I need to create the rest! Of course!! I will let you know when it's done! :O) I wouldn't hoard it all to myself!  lol  That's just silly! But I do so love to tease you all! :oP

And of course then that led me to here ! Now what I wouldn't give to get my paws on some of them photos! I spent alot of time there so be prepared for an eyefull of vintage goodness at it's best!

Then of course I always visit this wonderful and talented gal ! Always and inspiration for me! The wonderful colors, images that she colors (How does she do that!?) lol  and as always my fave...circles...ok polka dots...same difference LOL

and after visiting her website I go here ! Oh my another inspirational artist and her blog is pretty colorful too along with her studio! Gotta love that...oh oh oh here comes that something I always say....Ooooooooooo Look at the pretty colorrrrrrrrrrs hee hee

Oh and BTW!....I have come to the conclusion that when helping my daughters with homework...especially MATH....MATH REQUIRES PROSAC!! LOL ***giggle*** ***snort*** ;O)

And then somehow in one way or another these websites are connected...or somehow I just got all caught up in the wonder..hee hee Like here and here and then end up here and here and finally here !

WHEW!! Are you dizzy yet? LOL I spend way too much time on the computer! lol At least when it is working correctly that is! ;O)

Now I am off to do some shopping....Naw!!! Not groceries or clothes ART SUPPLIES...clothes?? I hardly spend money on clothes....no I am not naked! LOL Although! If I was....the clothes I do have wouldn't have paint splatters all over them!!! LMAO After all ...showering is a whole lot easier than doing laundry! And who enjoys laundry!! ***waves hands in the air like waving off a fly and shaking head*** Pfffffft! :oD

What happened to Springtime?

"DINNER and BINGO" strange title yes I know! lol Created on 8.5" x 11" cardstock.

We have had the weirdest weather here in Tennessee...and seems we are not the only ones...Yesterday was a very nice 80 degrees and todayyyyyyy....in the low 40's andddddd snowing! Hmmmpf! It would snow like crazy...stop...sunshine...melt the snow...cloudy again...snow...repeat...all day long! Very very strange!

Been really busy today...finished the above piece and working on a few others! I have also restocked my Shop with more Vintage Collage Element Packs!! To be honest I think they are even better than the last ones!

I think I am tired now lol...off to take a hot bath and go to bed...I need to ...my daughter came home and started having flu symtoms and it progressed through this evening. She'll be needing the mommy attention! Which is a good thing...but not so much for her having the flu...I feel so bad for my little ones when they are sick. :O(

Summertime Dreams...

It's Friday....it's cold, it's windy as heck and the skies are threatening rain...AAAAAgain! We've had this kind of weather off and on for over a week and this is where this art piece came about!

Oh gosh my tummy is growling...it is almost noon and I still haven't eaten breakfast! LOL

Anywho! While I was creating this piece...I was dreaming...that happens alot lol...more like my brain drifting off somewhere unknown lol....back to what I was saying...I was dreaming ..that wouldn't it be nice to let the guys take over the domestic stuff and all us gals run away to somewhere warm...like the Bahama's for instance! lol  Forget cooking those pancakes....put down the mop and broom...the ironing...etc etc...pack a bag and take off to the tropical places....where we can drink margaritas and enjoy the sun!!?? Heck I'm there! lol

Earth Angel....Earth Angel....

If you take a look...seems like everyone has come out of the woodwork...working hard for this lovely earth angels affections! Even the big bad wolf and a guy with a big toothy grin are trying to win her over!

The outline around the girl is actually yellow floresent making the image pop and giving it a nice glow! It is just my scanner that just does not want to let it show!

I've used alot of imagery from alot of places...There are both vintage images and copies of vintage images used. Childrens books, images from an image sharing group, vintage labels that I have purchased to use in my art pieces, found paper...the list goes on!

Hope you have enjoyed your visit here at Crowabout as much as I love having each one of you visit me!
