More Art...

Colorful Dreams 001

"Colorful Dreams"

When I started out with this green background I was kind of not so sure that I was loving it at the time. But as time went on adding papers, images, doodles and journaling...I am now digging it! :O)

Thinking now...I am wanting to try searching out some  new background techniques, plus start experimenting on my own! I get bored and tired of the same ol same ol and get in the mood to do something different! That would explain why I am always moving furniture and decor around my house and reorganizing shelves and such trying to find a balance I can live with. Well guess what?! There isn't a balance for that! LOL My world is ever changing...I suppose because I am always growing and changing  along with it and need to spice up my world and do things differently so things don't get dull and boring!

Right now I have to get off my duff and get myself put together to go pick up my hubby from the airport! Wooohooooooo! :D Then when I return I am positive my hubby will be taking over our only internet connection which will give me time to go play with paints and crayons and come up with something different for backgrounds!

Much love and hugs!

Some Art Finally...

Break Free 001 "Break Free"

1st of 8 Journal Art Pages completed! Yay!

I have been trying to post all day long but due to my computer internet connection being a TOTAL JERK, and now almost 4PM EST I am finally posting! UGH!

In just a few short days my daughter, son in law and my grandbaby are moving to Wyoming....why? There is just no work here for my son in law. I wish this were not true but sadly it is. Me and my hubby DO NOT want them to go!! More crud to deal with. But before they gooooo ...I am getting ready to have my son in law give me another tattoo! Going to have my Grandsons name on the back of my left shoulder...the night before last he finished shading in my first one...I will show it again when it heals. It looks really great!

I will try to work on some more of my pages tonight and hopefully get another blog entry up tomorrow or shortly after!

Meanwhile here is a blog I am loving right now ...It is in French I believe...I flunked the language but you won't need to know the language to enjoy it! Agence Eureka is the place to enjoy viewing this collectors love for vintage paper!

And THIS one!!! Where another paper collector has yummy vintage posters!

OMG! Have you been to see Teesha Moore's website lately! SHE'S POSTED LOTS MORE NEW ART JOURNAL PAGES!!! Woohooooooooooo! I am like in total heaven!!!

Off now to get my tattoo! :O)

Much love and hugs!

13 Days and counting....

13_days Sorry to disappear on you like that! My DH left for Boston on Sunday and it has only been a short few days since he left and already feels like months!

I'm hopeless LOL I miss him so much! He will be traveling there for the remainder of the year and coming home every other weekend! Well they picked a heck of a time to start this as he will not be home for my *cough* 43rd *cough* birthday *sigh*...I will live he will be home the weekend following and taking me to dinner and Hobby Lobby! I can deal with that! lol

I haven't worked in my journal for a very long time and thought it was high time that I did...especially with the need to express how I am feeling...Sorry again for the depressing art but hey gotta do what ya gotta do! ;O)

So now...I feel like painting more! I like this art journal page even if it's on the sad side.

This was created in my winter art journal...file folders are my pages in this journal...I used Gesso, acrylic paints, decorative papers, misc papers laying about my desk and Neo II's (love those crayons!!) and stamped the number 13 using rubberstamps I bought awhile back from Traci Bunkers here where she now has them on etsy!

Going to go paint some more and tidy up a bit as the landlords are coming over to see how much paint the house needs on the inside so it can be painted in the spring.

Much love and hugs!

An art journal entry and a photo

001 This is my current entry into my new journal *seen in a previous post*...Ohhhhhh *giggles* I haven't shown any pages from this journal have I ?? lol It's sparkly! Can you see it? I also have beads and shiney things that hang from the spine of the journal, see em'? They usually hang on the outside of the book but thought I'd flip them over to the inside so you could see!

This journal has become a winter sort of journal with dreams and wishes for snow! I have made all the signatures out of those plain manilla folders! Hub gave them to me since I had no wallpaper to make the signatures out of! Love that guy!

As for that wish for snow...well...it sort of came true...erm....indoors! hee hee

Paper chains and paper snowflakes adorn our dining room/studio! Ok...so I was really really bored! lol

I thought the young ones would enjoy it! And they did! Their beautiful eyes lit up when they arrived home from school! We have more to make for our living room windows..so that will give us something to do when school lets out for Christmas!

Like I say if you don't have decorations...make them! :) Hmmm maybe some pinecone hunting and spray paint them white and glitter them up!

002 I think I will head out for a walk..

Much love and hugs!

Not so genius inventions....

2007_0127yourselfexpress0002 Remember this art journal??

Well I never finished it...So after not finding anything to make a journal with...YET! I thought I would dig it out and work in it a bit!

It is mostly illustrations...I didn't say good ones! lol But it is a good place for me to practice them!

Working on faces mostly...when I really should be trying to learn how to draw hands and feet! No can do...Not something I was ever very good at...but hey! I got the perfect art journal to try it out in! :)

And soooooooo...my morning illustration page for today....

001 Up a Four-damn-0'-clock this morning! WHY FOR!! Lawdy!

Too dang early if you ask me!

I was sitting at my desk with much the same look on my face as this gals...Ok so it's a self-portrait..fffffft!

Me with my brownish-red hair (yes if you may know it came out of a box lol) and my hazel brown/green eyes(nope no contacts..I sorta omited the glasses I wear hee hee)

And my bright red night shirt..t-shirt type...just made it plain..but it really has on it the words..."Dear Santa...I want it all!" *snicker*

Gee...you think I could of drawn my bewbies a bit bigger! I look like I belong to the itty bitty titty commity! LOL Not that there is anything wrong with small titterz but maybe it is just wishful thinking they were something non-exsistant! Heck! Who really likes wearing bras? Really! The warmer it is the tighter they become and make you feel like they are going to cut off your air supply! lol And I must not have any shoulders...because the straps keep easing their way down off my so called shoulders! *hands up in the air* Why are we tortured this way? Who invented these contraptions anyways?! Like it's not enough crap we gals have to endure...Like sanitary pads!!! Gahhhh! Feels like a wad of paper between your legs and crawls up where the sun don't shine! Ha!! Go figure.......

Anywho! Much love and hugs! Happy Creating! :D

More art journal pages

005 Hello again!

This here is my morning page for today! A bit on the Halloweenish side! Created with decorative paper, vintage dictionary page and handmade papers and a few collage elements from TEESHA MOORE. The little bug people are clear tape transfers! And a few magazine scraps! Acrylic paint and oil pastels were also used to create this page!

Moving along...I thought I would show you some of the journal art pages out of my Cracker Box Art Journal that you have not seen yet..ok ok so I was lazy at scanning them LOL

010This part is the inside front cover of my journal..where I wrote myself a letter about what and where I see myself in one year, one month and one day (1+1+1) using a prompt by LOVELIFE's blog. In my letter to myself I wrote feasible goals I could reach in one year...heck if I can remember what I wrote but I then put it in a painted envelope and sealed it to where I wouldn't be tempted to look at it! So on August 20th of 2008 I will break the seal to see just how far I have come! Cool hu!?

011This next page is about how I will feel in one year one month and one day!

At the top it reads, "New Beginnings" off to the left it reads, "At peace with myself, clear mind and fresh ideas" and at the bottom it  simply reads, "Rebirth" with a little piccy of yours truly! ;o)

009 I think I will stop with this page and save the rest of them for tomorrow!

While going through this rough patch here lately at home I was getting a bit disgusted (spell check on isle 5 plz) But I then thought to myself ... and said out loud, "You can do this!" Ya it's hard but why spend your time being in a *insert your fav word* up mood! I won't have it! Stand up and dust yourself off and try harder!

Then this morning I found this quote and said you know this has alot of meaning to it! Anything is possible!

"Most of the important things in the world have been accomplished by people who have kept on trying when there seemed to be no hope at all." ~Dale Carnegie~

And with that I am going on about my day I hope all of you have a wonderful and creative day!!

Much Love and Hugs!

5 Randomness journal pages & One morning journal page

001 Happy Tuesday All!!!

This weekend was spent at my desk creating in my art journal...At one sitting I wanted to see how many random pages I could do....without too much thought...I don't have titles for them they are my daily exercises (lord knows I could use some physical exercise too HEH)

5 random pages were created...

Also worked/working on painted papers...After my sweet dh finished sewing his pants up on the sewing machine (yes he can sew...alot better than I ) I thought...well..since the sewing machine is all dusted off I will play on it with paper...and that I did....But...you know me...I love to tease you all...so that will be in another post! :D Sorry! I couldn't resist! ;o)

002 Then of course I heard a song by Sarah McLachlan and the page went on from there!

I used so many different papers and such...some from swaps, some purchased and some handpainted papers...I used a few of Anahata's images, Teesha Moore stamps and other elements.

Remember how I talked about in an earlier post about arming yourself with all your art supplies and just jump in....well that is the approach I took on these 5 pages!

See that yellow/orangish paper towards the bottom...the one with the not so fabulous stamping I did on it with TM stamp?! Ya! That one...read on and towards the end of the post I will tell you what I did to make it!

003Here I already had the background painted and then took one of my Caran D'Ache crayons and doodled little swirls around the border then used the stamp I made up the left side of the page....the red flowery border I used some textured wallpaper which I cut a strip off the border of the wallpaper and lightly brushed on red paint and a stamp was born!

The center background I used my Caran D'ache crayon again to make those *cough* lovely rays! I added a few paper elements and called it good.

The images used were from a swap with my dear friend   Hanna !

004 Ok damn! Let's just make the image size big enough for the world to see! LOL Ahh I not changing it..pffft! hee hee

More of the same swirls and rays and stamping...with added paper elements to the borders and more Anahata images!

Oooooooooooo! I just love to see all the edges of the pages following!

I also! put all my papers in one place in a cute wire basket right on my desk! A little desk supply organizing! I will show you that in another post! ;o) Hee Hee! I think I will get my photos taken so I can show you all these things I teased you with and post them tomorrow! Am I evil or what! :D

005 The last of the Randomness pages! The shirt this girl had on was cool..but I wanted to personalize it so with one of my stamped papers, rubber stamps I purchased from Patty ! So I cut the girls shirt out of the picture...and then used that piece as a template to cut a new one out of the stamped paper! I know I sure wouldn't mind a shirt like that! :D

006

And last but not least todays morning page! I think you can tell by this post that the 3 day weekend went pretty well! Even if things are amuck at my house...no no no...everyone is fine just some other stuff going on! It is one of those times (times our family has too many of) that you have to make do with what you have and you know something...these will be the times most remembered and full of memories! They are meant to teach you that no matter how tough times can get..you get that much tougher and will be able to get through most anything! So I smile! :) And carry on!

Now I suppose you would like to hear how we go about making that yellow/orangish page!? Ok....

001_2  Here we go!

You got any textured wall paper or something you could do crayon rubbings with?...got your Crayola's handy?

For this I used your ordinary printer paper (why? cuz me can! and plus I like how thinner papers adhere better to my pages) ...Textured wallpaper...Red Crayola crayon...and yellow acrylic paint and an old credit card...This is so easy you can probably guess how to do it but I will tell you about it anyways! ;o)

First lay the printer paper over the textured wallpaper and rub with the crayon(you did this in school! Remember?) When finished with that...squirt a small blob(don't you love my technical terms lol) of acrylic paint directly on the paper and swoosh your paint around with the ol credit card till you completely cover up any white peeking through! Now place waxed paper over it and weight it down with a heavy book...this will help keep the edges from curling up on ya! Done! See what other textures you can use for crayon rubbings? Coins, punchinella, screening, hmmm gravestones? That last one would work great for some of those Autumn/Halloweenish art pieces! The possiblities are yours to discover!

Now go play! hehehe

Much love and hugs! Happy Creating!

When dreams need to be set into motion....

Mystic_queen_001 Howdy doo!

Bet your curious of what is going on inside my new journal....

This is one of the entries I just finished today! "Mystic Queen"  More pages coming soon!

The image came in a package I received from Hanna ! Now how cool is this gal with horns on her head!? Huh!? Tell me!?  Thank you Hanna, I dug right into those goodies and started playing! I just love walking out to get my mail and see a curious looking package strapped to my mailbox ( I have a doo-hickey made up of elastic pony tail holders strung together to hold large envelopes going in and out of my mailbox) Hey! It works! LOL When they don't fit inside the box you have got to think outside the box! RIght!?

Yes,  I know I covered up things that I wrote in my art journal...so flipping what!! lol The important thing is that I wrote it and not what it reads! Most all of the time I just have so much hubbub on my mind that I just need to write it down and get it out of my noggin so I can move on to the next phase of life!

Some of you may remember me talking about finding a warehouse to call my studio/gallery/workshop(to teach others)/home and also cutting out time in the weekends to teach both adults and children and also an evening to showcase a local artist! And tell me...what artist doesn't want to be heard!

Well, I am thinking about it... NO I am going to do this...I am going to write a proposal to the correct folks of why I want this warehouse and what purpose it would fill and how it would benefit the community and also have space for my family and I to dwell! The workshops would purely be non-profit for me but with the help of donations I could teach and share with others what it feels like to let your creativity soar! I have so many ideas rolling and the possiblities! Can I do this? Is this just purely a stupid idea? This is my dream! I just know that anything worth while is worth the effort! Tell me your thoughts on this! I'd love to hear them! Any thoughts are good thoughts as long as their done in honesty! ;o)

Much love,

Nance
