How about an art page???....
This is an art page (not part of my art journal) it did not scan well at all! The pink border on the right is actually way brighter! Did I spell that right?! Eh well
Anywho! After I was finished I covered the whole piece in beeswax...hmmm that too is different in color due to the poor scan...I had purchased some beeswax and a quilting iron and I am telling you it is not an easy task...being that I have never done it before and plus never had a class to know how to do it properly. Here are the problems I had...One either my crockpot is too big or something..because by time I got the wax to the art piece the wax had solidified...hmmm...so the only way I could figure out to do this thing was to hold the art piece up by the crock pot to spread on the wax LOL Lawdy!!!
Ya! I don't know what I am doing...but...it sure does smell good...and the feel of the wax on the piece is wonderful!
This art page is mostly made up of handmade papers by yours truly! Moi! with the exception of the SB's sticker located in the bottom left corner and the small bit of paper (in brown color) in the top left corner which I snipped out of a curtain catalog! Nice patterns to find in that catalog!
Well least to say yesterday I exhausted myself with all the clearing out of closets and such to rid the house of crap we don't need to take on the move. By late afternoon I was feeling much flu-like...But wasn't the flu(this happens more often than not) Once we get settled in TN ..I will be looking for a good doctor...one that can put a name to whatever it is I have. I'm guessing here (not a good idea) one of two things ...either RA or something like Fibromyalga (sp check)...I am no doctor by no means...and no I am not a hypocondriac...the pain is real...I am not complaining though...I keep doing what I like to do everyday to keep what ever it is ailing me out of my mind. Maybe that's it! I'm losing my mind!! LOL I know...can't lose what you never had to begin with! hee hee Whatever it is I have to be bigger than it...and by the look of my un-exercised body I can definately put a stamp of approval on my poochie belly! LOL
No clearing out for me today! Going to spend my time making paint and glue messes on my desk! *grin*
Much love and hugs!!!

I would love to try ecaustic painting (did I spell that right)...lol. I've followed Judy Wise's blog and have gotten some good ideas there. In one recent post she featured fellow artists with one of those griddles you make eggs with and they used what looks like tuna cans for the wax (different colors)..and a thermometer. You must need the wax to be certain temp for optimal performance. Anyway, perhaps going that route might be easier :)

I just drip the wax from the iron and manipulate it when I have enough wax built-up. I too enjoy the smell of it... Good scan or not - your pages are always lovely to see.

congrats on the move and also for trying the beeswax.
I use a metal melting dish for mine, found by the hot glue guns in Michaels, to melt my wax. And then I just use a cheap, wide bristled brush to "paint" on the wax. You have to move fast, but I've always had really good luck !!
